The largest of the lakes, it is also considered to be the most beautiful. The Dolomites to the north shelter the lake from the cold north winds, creating a mild climate.

This popular resort, which gave its name to the lake, shows a strong Venetian influence.

Gardone Riviera
The small resort enjoys many hours of sunshine. Not far from the town is the Vittoriale, estate which belonged to the poet Gabrile D’Annunzio, who is buried here.

Malcesine
This attractive town stando on a promontory at the foot of Mount Baldo.

Riva del Garda
The small resort is dominated to the west by a rocky escarpment. In ancient times it was an important trading and communication centre between Verona and the Alps. Today the picturesque old town is a maze of narrow shopping streets.
