little town nestles on the mountainside eleven hundred feet
above sea level. The magical scenery, the timeless palaces and
tiny cobbled streets caught the imagination of Wagner, who was
inspired to create some of his most famous works here. A
testament to the ancient splendours are the mosaics of the
cathedral and the Villas Rufolo and Cimbrone.
